RollaNet's Pine/Online office offers online public computers for use by the entire community. The Pine/Online office is supported by donations from RollaNet contributing members as well as organizations and individuals in the greater Rolla area who wish to make computers and online access available to everyone.
Pine/Online Usage Guidelines
Users must be 18 years or older to use the public access stations without parental permission. Photo ID must be presented to establish age if requested.
Users 16-18 years of age may use the computers if parents authorize issuance of a Minor Card and minors are able to present photo ID.
There is no eating or drinking permitted in the computer lab. Smoking is prohibited in the building. There are no public restrooms.
Access to the Internet is not restricted by software. Users should use good judgement about what is displayed on their screen or printed, considering the public/family nature of the facility.
Users should be aware that if a complaint from anyone - another customer, staff or volunteer - is made regarding their use of the center, they will be asked to stop the offending activity. If they don't comply, their access will be terminated.
Users must sign in to use the computers. If the users are RollaNet members, after signing in they may log themselves on to the computer using their RollaNet userid and password. If the users are not RollaNet members, they will be logged on to a computer by the staff using a guest account.
Users may be logged onto the computers for as long as they like, provided there is no waiting list. If there is a waiting list, usage will be limited to one hour, after which the user may add his name to the waiting list.
RollaNet members can check/send email by using the RollaNet WebMail application at http://gmail.rollanet.org/.
When logging off the computers, double-click the logoff icon on the left side of the computer screen (or you can single click and hit enter). The computers should not be shut down or reset except by the office staff.
A suggestion form can be found at each computer station. Please give us your feedback about the quality of your visit, and offer suggestions for improving or increasing the services offered at the RollaNet center.
There is a small charge for printed copies to help cover the cost of paper and toner.
Thank you for visiting Pine/Online. Please come again soon!
